Happy Fourth of July! This week marks the 242nd birthday of the independence of our Nation. Happy Birthday, America!
Beginning in February of this year, I have written a currently post once a month that features five key words. Sometimes the word promptings are easy to think through, and other times it’s a challenge!
For the month of July, I am celebrating, visiting, baking, wearing, and loving.
Celebrating a Guest Post in July
This week I am celebrating a guest post published by The Old Schoolhouse Magazine Blog. I recently wrote a post titled—Moms, Don’t Forget the Library! This post explores the benefits of children attending library programs and explains why the library is one of the greatest environments for early learning development. I would love for you to share the post on social media. It’s some of the hottest days of summer, but the library has plenty of events in a cozy, cool location!
Visiting Summer Camp in July
We are blessed with the opportunity to visit summer camp with our church group during the month of July, and this is our week to attend! It’s an enjoyable time for everyone that includes fun games, outdoor activities, great food, biblical encouragement, and much more. My husband and son just finished an ice cream and a milkshake, and sweet baby girl has been taking a little nap. I think a trip to the craft shop is planned for later on, and the guys just headed out for a round of ping pong. My husband and I are taking turns with babysitting duty so one or the other can attend the services to hear gospel messages and singing! I used this printable Checklist for A Road Trip when packing for our trip. What a lifesaver!
Baking Blueberry Bread in July
In my quest to eat fewer sweets and healthier foods, I haven’t baked any batches of muffins or cookies in the last several weeks. I do enjoy finding healthier ways to bake favorite recipes, and I have learned that it’s easy to substitute a stevia baking blend in the place of sugar for many of our much loved treats. Summer Blueberries and Two Recipes is a post I wrote last summer that includes a recipe for blueberry bread and blueberry banana bread. Both of these recipes call for summertime blueberries and a stevia baking blend. As the summer blueberries continue to ripen, I’m sure I will be baking muffins and breads at some point in the next few weeks!
Wearing Clothes from The Skirt Outlet in July
I recently found a new online shop called The Skirt Outlet. I ordered the most adorable short sleeve midi dress with a ruffle hem. I chose the color mauve because I love pink, and it was the only color in stock when I ordered. I do like the ivory with the gray stripe option and would love to order that color as well. The dress is super nice quality and has a knit-like feel. I sized up when ordering, so you may want to check the size chart carefully if you place an order. Customer service was extremely helpful when I called to inquire about sizing. I also purchased this super cool and comfy gaucho-type split skirt, and it is a great addition to my summer wardrobe!
Loving Fun Summer Days in July
The splash pad, library visits, grilling out, family time, summer camp—we love these fun summer days! My husband and I even went on a date night recently, and that hasn’t happened in years! We had fun, and the babies had even more fun with grandparents. Check out my recent post, Faith-based Family Activities for summertime family inspiration!
