I missed writing Currently August 2018, so I definitely wanted to make the post for September! I thought about titling this post Currently August and September, but then it wouldn’t be very “current” because August has come and gone! And boy did it zoom by quickly this year! So, here’s what I’m currently starting, buying, sharing, reading, and recording in September.
Currently September 2018
At the end of July I started a new weekly routine for meal planning and cleaning. A couple weeks ago my husband and I added a new exercise routine and morning plan to our days. I love starting new plans, especially when they help organize the day and make things flow smoothly. I am back in full swing teaching piano lessons plus homeschooling for K-4, so it is priority to start our day correctly with our routines. I am excited to share with you my meal planning and cleaning schedules in an upcoming blog post, but for now, you may want to read my post No Stress House Cleaning. It’s an old post with LOTS of good tips, but my new and improved schedule fits my current life much better and is a little more planned out. Like I said, more on that later so stay tuned!
I currently need to buy groceries! We missed our regular shopping trip, so food choices are low at the moment! One key factor for making a meal plan work is keeping the cabinets stocked with items needed for the week, but sometimes life happens, and we have to roll with it!
Unfortunately, I haven’t been sharing very much new content on my blog lately due to the busyness of the summer. I think this is true for a lot of bloggers; however, I have been working on my blog in other ways. I have over 100 posts on my blog and have recently created new graphics for almost every post in an effort to update things and make it current. This summer project has been a huge undertaking, and I still have about 10 posts to go before it’s completed. So if you are looking for new Pinterest pins to pin, just scroll through all my blog categories and pin all the posts you like! I have heard that Pinterest loves pins 600x900, so most of my pins are that size with some exceptions. And speaking of sharing, I’m sharing my social media buttons and a link to my subscribe page if you are interested in following Peppermints and Cherries!
I always enjoy reading a good parenting book, and my favorite of all time is Paul Tripp’s book, Parenting: Fourteen Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family. However, I am currently reading Pitchin’ a Fit! by Israel and Brooke Wayne. This book has many biblical truths to help parents overcome stressed-out parenting and replace anger with patience and peace.
I have been recording important dates, appointments, and other info. in my new planner that I recently purchased. I found it when I was shopping a couple weeks ago and didn’t purchase it at the time because I thought it was overpriced. When I went back to the store to purchase it, the kind cashier gave me a 40 percent discount. What a blessing! The Lord knows just how to make us know He is watching over the small details of our lives. I didn’t even ask for a coupon, but the Lord took care of it for me! As the front cover says… Truly Blessed!
