Even though the first day of summer isn't until June 21, 2018, the summer season is here! It's hot and sunny with occasional afternoon showers that keep it humid in the deep South and make for uncontrollable frizzy hair! Today, I am co-hosting the Summer Time Fun Link Party. This is a month long party, lasting from June 15th until July 16th!Read More
For the Home
Sometimes it’s difficult to find the perfect centerpiece for a kitchen table or some other focal point that needs a bit of décor. Holidays are always a fun time of year to decorate, but finding décor for the patriotic holidays that is classic, stylish, and on trend can be challenging. Let’s face it, some patriotic décor is super cute, and a lot of it is just plain tacky! Farmhouse style is definitely trendy right now. Go in any home store, and you will find it!Read More
Since July 4th holiday is coming up in less than a month, I recently decided to make a patriotic farmhouse style wreath. Farmhouse style is so trendy and makes a home feel welcoming and inviting, so what’s better than patriotic farmhouse décor to welcome my family as we go to-and-from home during these hot summer months?!!
When it comes to decorating with red, white, and blue for the holidays, I am pretty picky about the style with which I decorate.Read More
Thank you to all who participated in the Welcome Spring Link Party!
During this link party you were invited to share any spring related posts: Crafts, Decor, Activities, Gardening, Recipes, & More. Some of you participated by including links to your blog posts, and others read many of the posts and left nice comments. Whatever the case, I hope you enjoyed the month long party as much as I did and that it inspired you to welcome spring!
If this is the first time you have heard about the party, I’m so sorry you missed out, but you can still view the party and all the posts at any time!
As promised, I am featuring my favorite post links today.Read More
A couple years ago I wrote a post titled, Organization 101: Why I Have a Desk. If you decide to read the post, you will discover just how much I have enjoyed my desk over the years and why it has been so useful to me. You will also read that a new coat of paint has been on my to-do list since 2015!
When I first acquired the desk, I painted it crimson and pink. Honestly, it seemed like a good idea at the time, and I liked it back then, but it has become increasingly tacky to me in recent years! For one reason, it doesn’t really match any of my other decor. It has been tucked away in a corner in the guest room, and it didn’t look badly in there. However, I decided to move it to the kitchen area, and of course, it looked atrocious in that location since everything else is neutral tones!Read More

For the month of March I decided to participate in a blogging craft challenge along with a group of fabulously creative bloggers. I hope you will visit their sites and maybe even find a couple new people to follow!
Our assignment was to create a craft using items from a dollar store. The first time I went to the store and looked around, I came out empty handed. I was trying to come up with an original craft, and my creative juices just weren’t flowing that day.Read More
My most favorite flowers are tulips, so for spring 2018, I chose tulips of all different colors…pink, purple, red, and orange! If you have read any of my other seasonal gardening posts, you know I don’t have elaborate flower gardens. I mostly plant flowers in planters and pots, and those little plants bring me so much happiness as I walk through my kitchen and view them on the deck!Read More

I woke up the day after Christmas and realized my house had exploded with Christmas presents! We were all blessed with nice new things from our family, and these new treasures needed a home in our home if you know what I mean! Believe me, an orderly home helps create a happy home. By no means is order the only ingredient to a happy home…there are lots more like love and forgiveness, and the list could go on and on!Read More
