Super Cute Handprint Craft for Grandparents Day

Just last week, I finished teaching the Todd Beamer story to my church class. I used the visualized story entitled, Be the One, from Bible Visuals International.

For the last lesson of the series I created a 9-11 remembrance coloring sheet for the closing activity.

We also said the Pledge of Allegiance to our United States flag and sang God Bless America.

Be the One takes about four weeks to complete and is very detailed. I told much of the story in my own words instead of reading all of it word for word. I think this twist helped with child attention spans for the lengthy sections of the story, and I was able to tell the story on a more age appropriate level for some of the younger children.

Overall, I recommend this lesson as a remembrance of 9-11 as it highlights the life of a Christian boy who became a man and made a difference in people’s lives. It is an excellent tool for teaching children the principle that the choices they make now shape who they will be as adults one day.

I hope you enjoy the free printable coloring sheet!
