Closet Makeover for a Nursery or Child's Room

Closet Makeover for a Nursery or Child's Room

September 6, 2015

Sometimes, older homes are rather quirky, and performing creative remedies takes on a whole new meaning! Confused? Here’s what I mean… Have you ever seen those closet doors that slide on tracks? They are really annoying, especially when they get off track! We recently did a closet makeover in my son’s room and completely removed those pesky doors! The ones in his room came off the tracks all...the...time!

Use Curtains to Replace Closet Doors

Follow these steps for your own closet makeover!

  1. Remove those clunky doors!

  2. Mount a curtain rod.

  3. Iron and hang curtains of your choice.

And there you have it! You’re done! It’s as easy as pie! Of course, the hardest part of the whole process is choosing your rod and curtains. Once that is done, just get your husband to do the rest!

I used four curtain panels, each panel sizing 56x84 inches. The curtains I chose are narrower, so four panels were necessary to completely cover the closet opening; however, the added panels allow for easier access into the closet due to extra openings.

I wouldn’t recommend this project for all bedrooms, but it is an especially cute idea for a nursery or a child’s room. It also gives children easy access to their closet without those little hands having to push around big doors.
