Augusta, Georgia… known by golfers and the general population as the home of the Masters. Located on the hilltop, only a few miles from the Augusta National Golf Club, is the lovely Partridge Inn. While this historic hotel is over 100 years old, it boasts the class and grandeur of its era.

The Partridge Inn Augusta, Georgia Hotel Review

My family recently traveled to Augusta, Georgia, for a wedding and had the opportunity to visit The Partridge Inn for one evening. If asked to describe this hotel in a few words, I would describe it as charming, timeless, and mysterious. I use the word mysterious due to the age and history of the hotel. Think of all the guests the inn has accommodated over the many years in the Augusta community! As I walked the winding hallways, I wanted to peak into all the rooms due to the uniqueness of the building’s architecture. Plus, the steep castle-like stairwells reminded my family of the nostalgia of a bygone era.

Check-in at The Partridge Inn | Augusta, Georgia

Even though the hotel is located right off a busy street, a small area is located at the front entrance for valet parking drop-off/check-in parking. The parking garage is conveniently located next to the hotel, so valet parking isn’t absolutely necessary, but it is available if needed. The price for valet parking at the time of my visit was $20 per day, and the same fee applied to self-parking. I was greeted by friendly bellmen and valet parking attendants dressed in professional uniforms upon arrival at the Partridge Inn.

Hotel check-in begins at 3 p.m. The front desk receptionists were welcoming and took care of my family’s reservations in a proficient manner.  They guided me to the elevators and gave instructions for access to the rooftop, which provides panoramic views of downtown Augusta. Two restaurants are housed in The Partridge Inn, one of which is located in the rooftop area. I did not have the opportunity to eat at either restaurant due to attending wedding festivities, but the food smelled delicious!

After parking in the covered garage, we easily made our way down a few stairs and past the pool to the back entrance of the hotel. The front and back entrances both lead to the lobby and main elevator area.

We used our keycard to secure access to the elevator and made our way to the fourth-floor suite which includes a spacious living area with tall ceilings. This tastefully decorated space hosts a sofa bed, several chairs and tables, a work area, and a 50-inch HDTV.

Other suite amenities include a coffee machine, mini refrigerator, bathroom toiletries, alarm clock, and high-speed internet. Many older buildings do not have sufficient electrical outlets, but the suite even has modern desk level electric plugs.

The bedroom includes two comfy queen beds with deluxe linens, a beautiful mirror, and an additional TV. The bathroom connects to the bedroom and is stocked with plush towels that are larger than most hotel towels. Even though the bathroom is a little on the small side, it provided everything we needed for our stay and was clean. I forgot my hairdryer and was thankful for this small but necessary amenity!

Additional Amenities at The Partridge Inn

Complimentary breakfast is not included with hotel accommodations, but guests have the opportunity to dine at two restaurants located in the hotel. The Inn has both a fitness and business center with a boardroom and ballroom. We swam in the hotel pool two times, and this was a fun highlight for my family. My children loved their night swim to help wind down after a day of traveling and visiting with family. We also swam the next day between breakfast and the wedding. It was the perfect time of day for swimming because the building shaded us from the hot Georgia sun.

The veranda at The Partridge Inn spans the length of the hotel and is a lovely space for reading or eating a snack. I only wished I had more time to relax and soak up this beautiful space while enjoying the American flags waving in the breeze!

The hotel manager graciously allowed my family a later check-out time which was helpful due to the nature of our visit. Standard hotel check-out time is at 11:00 a.m.
