Home2 Suites by Hilton® Greenville Downtown Review
My family and I recently took a little road trip through Greenville, South Carolina and stayed overnight at the Home2 Suites by Hilton® Greenville Downtown.
I have a toddler and a preschooler, so we definitely wanted to stay in a family-friendly hotel, and our stay did not disappoint! It was fabulous!
This Hilton® hotel is located in the heart of downtown Greenville and is conveniently located to numerous restaurants, shops, and other family-oriented activities.
Even though the hotel can be an extended stay hotel, it was great for just a one-night stay, and the sizeable room kept us from feeling cramped and crowded. There was plenty of room to unpack and stretch out!
The hotel lobby is the first impression for a guest, and I loved the way Home2 Suites® is so tastefully decorated with modern, yet classic décor.
The check-in attendant was super friendly and welcoming, and the valet parking attendant made a special effort to ask if he could help me in any way.
Since the hotel is located downtown Greenville, valet parking is offered; however, we parked right across the street from the hotel in a free space.
A parking garage is also available for a minimal fee, and we used that service after we returned from dinner.
Home 2 Suites® Greenville Downtown | Hotel Room Review
Our room was a Home2 Suites® King Studio Suite located on the fourth floor of the hotel, and the hallway smelled fresh and clean as we exited the elevator.
I’m funny about smells and have a sensitive nose, but there were no stale odors or strange smells. There was plenty of space for the kids to run around and have a little fun in the room. The couch was comfy, and the added footstool was a nice touch. The TV was a large flat screen with tons of channel selections, and a business area for working was next to it. Of course Wi-Fi was readily available.
The kitchen at this family-friendly Hilton® hotel was much more than a kitchenette for sure.
Furnishings included a microwave, full-size refrigerator, and even a dishwasher! It was especially helpful as I needed to wash a couple sippy cups before our trip home. We ate out for our dinner meal, but since the kitchen came stocked with plates, cups, flatware, a can opener, colander, baking dish, plus more, it would have been very easy to prepare a simple meal.
Our room had a spacious oval table with wheels that could be rolled out for playing games, using a laptop, or sharing a meal together. The table slipped right under the counter in the business area so it was out of the way until needed. I have stayed the night in numerous hotels over the years and have never noticed this feature in another hotel.
The room also included an exceptional amount of storage space in the form of shelving and counter tops. I don’t like placing my things on a hotel floor, so it was nice to have all the extra storage.
One of the main purposes of a hotel stay is sleeping, so the beds are an important consideration!
The mattresses at Home2 Suites® Greenville Downtown are so spacious and comfortable.
Who can complain with a king bed? There’s so much room for relaxing, even when sharing with small children!
The sheets were cozy soft, but most importantly, fresh and clean.
I read on the Home2 Suites® Greenville Downtown website that all bed linens, even the bedspreads, are washed after every guest, and that’s a huge plus in my book!
Play pens are available for the littlest family members, and our family took advantage of this nice service. It beats lugging in our own playpen for just one night!
The hotel bathroom was very clean and stocked with plenty of towels, wash cloths, and hand towels.
The crisp white décor helped make the bathroom sparkle, and the lighting was excellent for applying makeup and even tweezing eyebrows!
I especially liked the bars of soap designed to massage and pamper the hands. Bath time for a toddler and a preschooler is challenging when not at home, but we made it work with no problems! Bags for dirty laundry were also provided. I’m always glad to see those because I don’t like mixing dirty clothes with other items in my suitcase, and a family of four makes a lot of dirty laundry quickly!

On our way out for dinner we also enjoyed the hotel patio briefly as it was chilly and windy. It’s a great place to relax while watching the traffic and the hustle and bustle of city life in Downtown Greenville.
This Hilton® hotel offers numerous other services including certain discounts, a business center, and snack area. We were given complimentary waters upon check-in, and they came in handy around bedtime when the children were thirsty!
I have been trying to take my exercise routine seriously for quite some time now, so I was thrilled to use the Spin2 Cycle fitness area after a good night of rest. The mattress was so comfortable that I slept a little longer, but I got in a mini workout at least! The elliptical is always my favorite in a hotel workout room, but two treadmills are available as well as a large selection of weight equipment.
My little girl loves balls, so she was thrilled with the gigantic exercise ball! The workout room is designed so you can do laundry and exercise at the same time. So convenient! We didn’t use the laundry services, but it’s always nice to know they are available in case they are needed.
Home2 Suites® Greenville Downtown | Review of Complimentary Breakfast
Everyone was excited for breakfast after dressing and partially packing up. We arrived a little after 9:30 a.m. but there was a variety of options available. My son enjoyed a waffle, and my husband ate an omelet and a sticky bun. I forgot to take my daily medicine before we went to breakfast, so I had to forego unfortunately! My little girl enjoyed part of her brother's gigantic waffle and a blueberry yogurt, and everyone selected milk or juice to drink.
Overall, the complimentary hotel breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices such as gourmet breakfast sandwiches, waffles, and even simpler foods for those pickier childhood taste buds!
One of the up-to-date features of the breakfast area is the charging stations. It seems like my cellphone is always running out of battery, and sometimes I forget to charge it overnight, but charging is available while you eat!
As we were leaving the hotel, the housekeeping staff members were very friendly and told us to have a safe trip.
